Plantation on Crystal River
A hidden gem located on the Nature's Coast of Florida and the Gulf of Mexico, this
beautiful 50 year old newly renovated, affordable, eco-friendly and green lodging luxury resort is surrounded by the
natural springs of King's Bay. This bay, in Crystal River, is one of the
largest aquifers in the state and home to more than 400 West Indian Manatees
that migrate each year to the warmth of the 72 F degree springs.
At this tranquil setting along Central Florida’s Nature Coast, we invite you to escape
your typical routine, come and share time with other “TT’ers,” and make
yourself at home here at the Plantation on Crystal River. Surrounded by 232 acres of picturesque countryside
with rolling greens, lawns, and grand live oaks, palms, and pines, the resort
sits on a lush preserve land with emerald golf course greens and grand oaks that
house hundreds of birds and wildlife including Osprey, Sandhill Cranes, Blue
Herron, Red Bellied Warbler, Yellow Bellied Warbler, Neotropic Cormorant, Great
Egret, Eagles and Grey Horned Owls to mention only a few.
The
Plantation’s new $3 million renovation
will be complete by Jan 1, 2012. The resort’s guest rooms where we’ll stay are already
complete. Expanding our guest rooms,
we have a large 20X30 Hospitality Suite
with Kitchenette to gather in. Another large
conference room will provide for our
group meetings and a place to
offer Therapeutic Touch sessions in a spacious environment.
The resort has 4 restaurants and eateries from fine
dining in the Plantation Room, the Library Lounge, the 19th Hole Bar
and Grill, and the poolside Tiki Bar. From breakfast to lunch to early bird
dinners or a full dining room experience there is something for everyone. The
town of Crystal River is nearby with many restaurants and shops. Afternoons
will be free to explore or retreat or maybe a bit of both! The Aveda spa is in
the main building for massage or beautifying rituals.
The beautiful outdoor area with water views on the river is a great
backdrop to the resort with newly remodeled pool, hot tub, and tiki bar. It is
a place to simply relax and take in the Florida Sunshine and perfect weather.
Kayaking, boating, and other water sports are available at the marina and dive
shop. 
The Point with lush lawn and gazebo at the edge of King’s Bay is where we’ll experience
tai chi chuh and gentle yoga.
More sports
offered include a game of tennis, croquet on the regulation court, play a round-robin horseshoe tournament, or a gameon the sand volleyball court.
If you’re
into walking the trails or wanting
to golf, the Mark Mahannah 18 hole championship gold course has great fairways lined with
majestic oaks and emerald pines, challenging water obstacles and all new sand
bunkers. Play our short Lagoons 9 hole course as a great option to sharpen your short game. Bring your whole family for days of fun and
adventure.
If the thrill
of adventure calls you, the dive shop or marina will provide us with a cost-effective,
eco-friendly river boat tour*. Boat
rentals, kayaks, canoes and Jon boats are available. We are still working out some of these
details…however,
This is the only location in North America where you can legally
get up close to manatees in their native habitat by swimming or diving with
Florida manatees.
As night
falls we’ll gather once again to review our day and share reflections of our
experiences, new awareness and learning.
